hi

I had my daughter 5 yrs ago via  elective Caesarean as my Dr told me I would go over my due date and my baby would be over 4kg but with no pregnancy complications and because I was young (21yrs) and I took her word for it.

Now that I am 18 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child I would really like to have a water birth , I am going to the gynae next week and am going to discuss it with her and hopefully she will support me and advise me that I can try.unsure', '1');” src=”http://vbac.co.za/wp-content/forum-smileys/unsure.gif” alt=”unsure” />

Thanx for the info regarding  Pro- VBAC gynae's , will try and find one in PTA.

Hugs

D

Hi Kebs,

I tried looking at Sandton but no one felt convinced about my choice for a vbac. Having asled around I haven’t gotten a really good response regarding natural birth about them either.

Seems their caesar rate is sky high.

Not sure exactly but over 90%OMG

I’m thinking of Genesis or Linkwood.

Will see what DH says first. He liked Sandton cause it’s nearby but he’s also heard what I have ansd wants to give me the best shot at trying so we have dropped that consideration.

I’ve heard Dr Mia is wonderful.

Trying to get an appointment with him at Genesis.

I’m also thinking of getting a doula to help before and after.

What about you?

Hi Kebone,

Well you are perfectly situated to have all sorts of options available to you.

You can find pro-vbac doctors at Linkwood clinic, Genisis clinic and Park Lane.

A couple of doctors you may want to try are:

Dr Mia,

Dr Jivkov,

They work from Linkwood and Park Lane and Dr Mia is also at Genisis clinic full time.

They are pro-VBAc and natural birth as well as backing up the private midwives.

Give it a shot and let us know.

Love and warmth

Thank youHi Lia thank you for your response.I am situated in Randburg (JHB North). If you know a Dr who can help closer to my area please let me know.I know that most of the gynae prefer caesar without even considering how we feel about it. keep in touch .take care

welcome

I agree with you. Get a second opinion from a doctor that is pro-VBAC.

There are some amazing doctors out there. Just need to find them.

What area are you in?

Perhaps I can recommend someone or someone else will have a good referral.

Take care!

newbiehi there Im new in this forum and would like to chat to u about your experiences. I had my LG in 2007 @ 40 weeks. I was initially induced and did not dilate at all for 5 hours , I was then sent for emergency caesar. my wish was to have a natural birth and actually experienced the pain on inducion as well as on the caesar. however I had  a speedy recovery with my op and since then I havent felt any pains. Im 26 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby and would like to give natural birth a chance. my current gynae didnt recommend VBAC and opting for caesar again, I want to get a secoond opinion from other doc
