Hi Sham,

It is sad that your recollections of your birth and post birth leave you upset.
Sounds like you had a hectic time. I don't blame you for wanting something different this time around.

I had a VBAc and I am overweight. It is a good idea to limit your weight gain during the pregnancy but this needs to be done safely whilst under professional

directive so that neither you or baby are at risk at anytime.
Eating healthy is a general good tip for all women so perhaps raising your awareness as to how to add in extra wholesome snacks and meals is also sure to

help.
Making a regular plan to do some light exercise like a nice walk in a beautiful spot each day. One would be surprised at how much a walk a day can do.
Your body can do this so don't let this get you down. Each woman is a pillar of strength unto herself. The trick is believing in yourself!
I hope to hear from you what you have found so far to work for you.
I'm in Jhb so don't know CT gynaes but I do know doulas down there that could assist you in finding someone to support you. Interested?

Love and abundance
Lia

I had a C-section with my first pregnancy becasue my baby went into distress. I was not dialating enough and he seemed stuck on my pelvic bone. However I had an aweful experience during the labour and post birth with the epidural medication and the thought of that experience still leaves me upset.

I am now 25 weeks pregnant with my second and I have asked my Gynae about a VBAC but he did not seem too interested. I am also quite overweight, but have a friend that had a VBAC with her second and she is MUCH larger than me.

I really want advice/guidance on the VBAC options for an overweight person, and what can I do to prepare myself for a vaginal birth.

I'm in the Cape Town area so if anyone can recommend a VBAC-friendly Gynae I would also appreciate that.
