welcome Shelley,

Some of the scare tactics I’ve heard have made myeek .

I hope that you are not too discouraged.

I am still ttc but am also gathering as much info as possible in the moment. I am also set on having a vbac but know that it isn’t always possible.

What I am discovering through others stories and reading up is that a vbac is safe and possible in most cases. Doctors put a lot of restrictions on a vbac as a precautionary but that in fact most times thes precautions are heavily exagerated.

I suppose it is a question about the level of comfort one is willing to go to. If something like a vbac is not something you do often it is bound to feel scary.OMG Lord knows I feel this way but to take that responsibilityb when you do not fully “believe” it’s possible or are scared that all the bad things happen then it is bound to cloud your judgement. Wouldn’t you say?

I think our bodies are marvellous things and that they can do so much even when damaged and hurt.

Trust is a good thing to have and some knowledge as well as loads of support.Group hug

I am already in contact with the person who will be my doula. She’s great! I am glad that I will not be walking this path alone when the time comes.

A tip to get started in finding caregivers that are truly supportive.

Find  people who have higher success rates than others and who are most supportive of you.

big welcome Shelley,

I'm happy you have found your way to this forum.

It is amazing how the negative sometimes has the loudest voice.

Listen carefully and you will also hear the positive side.

There are many positive stories and I hope others will share theirs with you.

I had a successful VBAC and will never regret doing it. Even if it didn't work out I would have been happy to have a trial of labour. It did feel right for me.

I have also supported mom's through both successful and unsuccessful VBAC's and the ones that were successful far outnumber the ones that don't. I don't think there is any one of them that regrets at least trying.

I hope that the links on the main part of this site can help you with information and then your own heart as it guides you in what is best for you and your family.

Love and support

Lia

I had a caesar 4.5  years ago for the only reason that my son was large, there was nothing medically wrong. My pregnanacy was healthy. I think I did unfortunately succumb to scare tactics.

I am now 10 weeks pregnant and dont feel the need to automatically choose another Caesar but the scare tactics have already started. Second babies are usually bigger/once a scar always a scar etc.

I need to gather as much info as I can so I can be informed. Will a VBAC be possible? Need to hear from moms who have been there done it.

Thank You
